Recent Land Preservation Projects



The Caouette Simeone Farmland in (15 Acres)  South Acton

ACT initiated this project and provided partial funding for the recent

purchase by the Town.

The Gaebel land (5 Acres)  at Great Hill Conservation Area

ACT initiated this project and worked with the Acton Community

 Preservation Committee (CPC) for funding.

The Donald land (11Acres) at the Acton Arboretum

ACT co-holds  and Monitors a Permanent Conservation Easement.

The Whitcomb land (16 Acres) at Heath Hen Meadow Brook

ACT purchased this 16 acre parcel as part of an effort to connect the

Heath Hen Meadow Brook and Flagg Hill Conservation Areas. 

The Kingman Pasture (6.5 Acres), on Esterbrook Road

ACT Holds and monitors a permanent conservation easement on this

open pasture land

The Groener land (12 Acres) by the Nagog Conservation Area

 ACT Initiated this project and worked with CPC for Funding, and will

 hold and monitor a permanent conservation easement

The Department of Correction Farmlands on Route 2 (107 Acres in Acton)

ACT worked with the Sudbury Valley Trustees and the Concord

Conservation Land Trust to secure Commonwealth open-space

protection for these lands along Route 2.


The Acton Conservation Trust is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that can hold permanent conservation easements, accept gifts of land, accept tax-deductible gifts to be used for open space preservation and purchase land for conservation purposes.  We also provide education to landowners about various options for preservation.  ACT is one of more than 130 such organizations in Massachusetts, and is a member of the Massachusetts Land Trust Coalition and the national Land Trust Alliance.
